“Velo” stolen
Berlin 2nd December, Reifenberg’s “Velo” stolen from Berlin Brothel
„Velo“ by artist Dodi Reifenberg was reported stolen from The Freudenhaus Laufhaus Hase, a brothel in the working class suburb of Berlin. Velo was one of 20 installations in Reifenberg’s Zusamen show, which explored the themes of sexuality, commerce and fluids.
The plastic collage hung in the stairwell of the brothel’s third floor, which is frequented by over 300 patrons daily. Reifenberg said the theft reflected the irony of the circumstances – “When you exhibit your work in a brothel, you expect to get screwed”.
Police investigations are now in progress.
